RP O’Brien, MA, MFA, MA in Ed.,
REACE, ICAF
The creative arts–especially music, writing, the visual arts–are at the essence of who I am and how I experience my world.
I received my undergraduate degree in Art/Fine Arts (and education,) I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Arts Degree in Education in Language Arts & Curriculum Design, a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing, and a Diploma in Nursing. I have a Certificate (4-year program) in Voice from the New England Conservatory of Music.
I have studied expressive and creative arts therapy, biblio/poetry therapy, spirituality in healing, art therapy, storytelling, narrative and memoir writing, writing as a therapeutic modality, music therapy. Over the past 30 years, I have worked as a musician, performer, expressive and creative arts facilitator, psychotherapist, nurse, educator, program and curriculum designer, case manager, consultant, in my own business, for larger organizations, and with nonprofits.
A lifetime of making art, of creating spaces to explore and share, alone and with others, continues to inspire and drive me—-to connect through the arts and use our creative expression for deeper clarity, deeper understanding, health, healing, and transformation.
